Iran has recently arrested 12 undercover agents of CIA, who have been accused of spying on Iran, on the alleged nuclear plans ahead. The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) claimed that the Iran Government has got hold of 12 people who work for the central Intelligence Agency of US with unknown nationalities.
The 12 alleged have been arrested on grounds of spying on the Iran military operations, as well as its nuclear program and also had close links with Israel’s Mossad.
Sorouri said, “The US and Zionist regime’s espionage apparatuses were trying to use regional intelligence services, both inside and outside Iran, in order to deal a strong blow to our country,” adding further, “Fortunately, these steps failed due to the quick measures taken by Intelligence Ministry officials.”
The US on the other hand suspects that Iran is set on a nuclear weapon program, but Tehran denies the charge. On the contrary Iran claims that back in May too it had arrested 30 people who were on a spy run network run by CIA. The mission then it says was to recruit people from Iran as their spy, and had missions established in Malaysia, United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
This news though has followed suit to the recent reports about Lebanon’s Hezbollah uncovering of several CIA informants and then there were immediate reports from the US about lives of several agents there being in danger.
The arrests in Iran did not reveal any names nor did it bring out clearly the nationalities of the arrested people.
Similarly a week back the CIA agents were forced to stop their operations in Lebanon, where US agents were gathering vital information on terrorist groups and other such targets. Several informants were arrested in Beirut this year.
Iran has always held US responsible for teaming up with Israel and attempt to thwart its nuclear program.
